Biden and President Barack H. Obama for his lifelong commitment to building a stronger nation. Having the distinct honor of being selected by United States Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Rev. Dr. Holmes is the first member of Clergy to be officially trained by Members of the United States Congress in a special Congressional, Political, Education and Leadership Training Institute Boot Camp, chaired by U.S. House of Representative Congressman Bennie G. Thompson, with U.S. Congressman Elijah E. Cummings as his teacher and mentor. Bishop Dr. Holmes was conferred by the United States House of Representatives’ “The Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition Award” for Outstanding and Invaluable Service to the Community for his exceptional leadership. Bishop Dr. Holmes has organized and facilitated thousands upon thousands of Local, Statewide, Regional, National, and World Leaders and Organizations to meet and create public policies with the President of the United States, the Vice President, the White House Cabinet, the United States Congress, Governors, State Senators and Representatives, Mayors, City Chairpersons and Council Members, the Federal, State and Local Governments, Members of the United Nations, Judicial and Legislative Officials, National Associations, Financial Corporations, Business and C-Level Executives, Mental Health Agencies, National and Global Faith Leaders, Non-Profits, Professional Artists, Major Sports Teams, Athletes, Media Personalities, Film and the Press, Celebrities, United States and Foreign Ambassadors, Philanthropists, Financial Investors, the African Union and Presidents of Nations. In the Bicentennial Year of 2022, the Ambassador of Liberia H. E. George S. W. Patten, Sr. appointed the Bishop Dr. George E. Holmes to the historic position as the Honorary Ambassador of Liberia.
Bishop Dr. Holmes is a highly sought after leader as he historically served as the Chairman, Co-Chairperson, Master of Ceremonies, Organizer and Chief Fundraiser of numerous ‘U.S. Presidents’ Lifetime Achievement Awards’ National Commemorations and Global Events. Bishop Dr. Holmes is a frequent guest of the President of the United States and the White House Senior Administration as he represents many groups in White House Briefings and Leadership Conferences, Weekly White House Stakeholders Policy Meetings, White House Roundtable on State and Local Government Relations, Presidential Historic Signings (e.g., the Reauthorization of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the Affordable Health Care Reform Bill), White House Advisory Councils, White House Religious Summits and Council of Economic Advisors and the President and First Lady Arrival Ceremonies welcoming Foreign Diplomats and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Bishop Dr. Holmes worked with President George W. Bush to orchestrate meetings with survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Bishop Dr. Holmes was strategic in the vetting of the Houses of Worship for President Obama and the First Family. He coordinated and co-authored, with prominent global leaders, the widely celebrated book, “Mr. President”, unveiled at the National Press Club. He served as a member of the President Obama National Clergy Leadership Group and now serves as a member of the National Clergy Leadership Network and Chairman of the DC Democratic Party Faith-Based Caucus. He is an Advisory Board Member of the World Chamber of Commerce and a frequent speaker at Foreign Embassies.
