Jonah Cooper, Jr. is a community-minded educational entrepreneur with a passion for developing innovative non-traditional strategic alliances to achieve shared organizational goals within new and emerging markets. As the President of Jonah Cooper, Jr. LLC, his company provides consulting services specializing in workforce development, business development and strategic partnership creation. His signature program which he conceptualized and developed is HANOJ: Helping America Negotiate Opportunities and Jobs – a workforce development process.
He is the former Director of Business Engagement for Rowan College at Burlington County and its Workforce Development Institute. He previously served as the Director of Business Development for the Rutgers University Division of Continuing Studies with a main focus of commercializing the academic intellectual properties of the university. Prior to that appointment, Jonah was an Independent Consultant for Rutgers University’s Institute for Executive Leadership and Diversity. In this capacity, he developed training and educational on-line and programs for adult learners throughout the corporate community, minority business associations, and for other institutions of higher learning.
He co-developed the On-line Supplier Diversity Training Program which was initially developed as a partnership between Rutgers University and the National Minority Supplier Development Council. This training program became the first on-line training program for Supplier Diversity Professionals. He also co- developed the curriculum for the Institute for Supply Management’s Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity certification program.
As an Independent Consultant to the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), Jonah provided business development, marketing support and outreach to over 430 national corporate members.
He is the former Director of Business Development for the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority, where he was responsible for developing, reviewing, recommending, and maintaining the Authority’s business development support programs.
Jonah’s community mind-set began in his former position as Executive Director of the Moorestown Ecumenical Neighborhood Development Corporation (MEND), a non-profit business and affordable housing development corporation created by nine churches in Southern New Jersey. He identified and secured funding and investment sources necessary to build over 400 homes for low to moderate-income senior citizens and families.
He is the proud father of three daughters, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and is an accomplished pianist and music arranger, coin collector, and motivational presenter.
